Не надо ля-ля!:) Вот простейший рецепт:
1. Ищем 3-и X-ы, а точнее /etc/XF86Config от них - там есть много
разных modeline'ов, или добываем modeline'ы подходящего разрешения другим
способом.
2. Берем в руки калькулятор и считаем, например
# 1024x768 @ 120 Hz, 95.8 kHz hsync
Modeline "1024x768" 138.00 1024 1056 1248 1440 768 771 781 802 +hsync -vsync
Здесь 138.00 частота кристалла на видюхе(pixel clock) в MHz, если
138000000/1440=95833 Hz - горизонтальная развертка
138000000/1440/802=119 Hz - вертикальная развертка
Все.:)
