Спасибо, воодушевило. С новой энергией навалился.
Но проблема, похоже, лежала не собственно в chipset-е, а BIOS-е: когда проверив обнаружил, что уже выложен новый BIOS именно для этой версии/исполнения P4C800, заменил его и HT-SMP снова заработал. Правда, kudzu заявила, что куда-то делся IEEE1394 и сняла его, но пока это для меня не актуально. Хотя - раздражает.
