Согласно man, блокирует аккаунт lp$. Может ли после этого с
ним работать smbpasswd - я незнаю (не проверял).

PS: Возможно я нелучший советчик: У меня Machine account
добавляется через "add machine script = <скрипт>". (См.
вчерашнее письмо с темой "Samba3 в какчестве PDC (пока - NT4)")
