Эт я знаю.
Основной смысл вижу в возможности поиграться со спеками
критичных пакетов, на предмет отключения всего что не
используется и к использованию не планируется. В основном это,
конечно к ядру и X относится...
Но в любом случаи (ИМХО), полезно познакомится с потрохами
критичных пакетов. (Не факт, что найду на это время. ;-))
