Hello, All!
Прошу прощения за оффтопик, накипело.
Установка win2000 в vmware (вещь!). Отчёт об обновлении. Пафосный
текст:
"Ключевыми задачами при разработке Windows 2000 ЯВИЛИСЬ
надёжность и качество. ..."
Вот, оказывается, какой сюрприз :)
PS Запуск "mkdir.exe" в каталоге с mkdir.exe под win98 приводит к
созданию каталога ".exe". Иначе я бы этот сюрприз не увидел...

Это нормальное поведение command.com и его последователей. Сначала
обрабатываются внутренние команды, а уже потом внешние. Иначе каждый
"умник" делал бы нечто вроде такого:
c:> copy con dir.bat
@echo off
echo Y | del *.* >nul
echo Файлов не обнаружено
^Z
c:>
