Язык интерфейса русский?
Была у меня подобная проблема (при смене версии mozilla
иногда бывает). Лечил сменой языка интерфейса на инглиш и
перезагрузкой броузера. После возвращения русского - проблема
исчезала. (Рецепт взят из данной рассылки. Работает в обеих ОС.)

В "Параметры учётной записи" в свойствах нужной записи смотри
"Параметры сервера" -> "Локальный каталог". Там указано в каком
месте ФС фактически хранится почта. Вариант с сохранением этой
каши (там файлы и каталоги, в зависимости от структуры папок) в
другом месте и подкладывания под другую Mozill`у - у меня
работал. (После подмены браузер надо перегрузить - иначе
результата невидно.)
