как вариант, но не самый быстрый.

Если навороты лдапа не нужны, то лучше хранить пользователей в userdb -
это самый быстрый вариант из возможных.
У меня работает postfix -> maildrop-userdb -> courier-imap, настройка
описана в maildrop-doc + куча моих вопросов и ответов на них в архивах
Community и Sisyphus.
