У меня запущено двое иксов.
Когда завершаются те иксы, в которых я в данный момент не
работаю, меня выбрасывает туда, откуда я их запускал.
Вопрос: как сделать так, чтобы завершение иксов никуда не
переключало виртуальную консоль?

Как вариант - попробовать ключ -vt... А может вообще придется патчить
XFree86 на предмет отрывания кода преключения консолей...
