Да. Ядра примерно до 2.4.21 не дружат с южным мостом ICH5, который
входит в 875 и 865. С ними можно работать только в ide compatibility
mode (режим биоса), при которой SATA видна как один из двух каналов IDE
(кажется, довольно медленный, без всяких UDMA). Возможно, и без SATA
стоит попробовать переключиться в этот режим - но точно не знаю.
За вычетом этой проблемы ядро уже поставленного из коробки ALM2.2 (но не
ядро инсталлятора - про него не знаю!) на i865 (но он очень похож на
i875) работало вполне нормально.
