Лично я настройку шрифтов (в частности для OOfice в M/J 2.x) выполняю
следующим образом:
1) Под root в текстовой консоли:
# rpm -ivh cabextract-0.6-1.i386.rpm
# rpm -ivh ms-ttf-1.0-alt5.noarch.rpm
2) В OOfice:
Сервис->Параметры->Замена шрифта
*-Применить таблицу замен
* * Andale Sans UI на Arial
* * Nimbus Roman #9L на Times Nem Roman
Все!
(Перезапусти OOfice).
