или сразу: echo 0>/proc/splash
если через конфиги, то vim /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash и добавить строку:
SPLASH="no"
и вообще, можете сами почитать загрузочные скрипты (например
/etc/rc.d/init.d/splash)...
