Установил я на Мастер 2.2 бета новый киликс. Так он при загрузке
показывает заставку и вешает иксы, причем вешает так что только reset'ом
можно оживить. На консоль никаких сообщений об ошибках не выдает.
Кто-нибудь сталкивался с такой проблемой?

Никак под рутом ставили батенька?!
Ставте под юзером - проблем никаких (если кайликс не битый
конечно)!
P.S. Потом еще вопросы будут типа "как без загрузки IDE проги
запускать" и т.д. Лучше что-нибудь другое подобрать. Кайликс -
сырой (или кривой, кому как нравится) продукт, ИМХО.
