Hi!
Я прошу принять во внимание следующее:
1. locale у root, отличная от C -- потенциальная дыра в security.
Причем дыра крайне опасная, так как почти никто из специалистов по
security не тестирует систему в таком режиме. В том числе и
разработчики RH, которые сами работают в C или en_US.
2. Проблема эта среди специалистов обсуждалась многократно. В Debian
locale C у root была всегда, у SuSE -- тоже. К решению SuSE приложили
руку двое участников нашей команды.
3. Мы будем поставлять свою систему максимально защищенной "из
коробки". Пожелания пользователей мы учитываем, но от концептуальных
положений не отойдем, пока и если нас не убедят в ошибочности нашей
точки зрения.
4. Если Вы настойчиво хотите работать под логином root, то лично я не
советую использовать ALT Linux.
5. Я больше не принимаю участие в дискуссиях на эту тему в
mandrake-russian. И другим -- не советую.
