Создал директорию в /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts, внес ее в /etc/X11/fs/config,
рестартовал xfs, никакой ругани.
xlsfonts - вот оно, спасибо! - ничего не говорит по поводу появления нового
шрифта. Его просто в выводе нет.
Вот еще симптомы: при запуске иксов от пользователя происходят жуткие тормоза,
а список шрифтов меньше, чем когда запускать иксы от рута. Тогда и шрифтов
побольше, хотя нужного все равно нет, и ничего не тормозит. Права доступа на
все одинаковые.
Система - Castle, но это не суть, ибо иксы от Junior-1.1, а ядро без rsbac. То
есть - нормальный линух, только иксы руками заживлял. Оттого и страдаю ;)) Но
надо же учиться.
