Да, говорили :-)) Но не 2-3 а существенно раньше...
Для такого запуска надо поднять Х сервер, который будет
выполняться в бэкграунде без отображения (ему да же видюха не
нужна), но своим присутствием давать возможность Х-приложениям
нормально жить.
Если я не ошибаюсь, то этот ценный веник содержится в пакете
XFree86-Xvfb-4.0.3-ipl2mdk
правда я тогда так и не попробовал эту фишку - руки не дошли, а
потом задачи сменились...
