KDE на старте грузит какие то свои звуковые примочки - возможно
от этого траблы.
Попробуйте отключить звук в настройках KDE.
Я отключил - у меня все работает.

Проверьте в настройках KDE не запускается ли у Вас artsd. Если запускается
- выключите. Глючный он пока.
