Попробуйте в /etc/sysconfig/mouse:
MOUSETYPE=imps2
XMOUSETYPE=imps2
FULLNAME="PS/2|Logitech MouseMan+"
XEMU3=no
WHEEL=yes
device=psaux
nbuttons="5"
после чего
# servicse gpm restart
А в XF86Config** какой там у Вас используется
Section "Pointer"
Protocol "IMPS/2"
Device "/dev/psaux"
ZAxisMapping 4 5
я привел синтаксис для X 3.3.6 для X 4.X.X он несколько
отличается.
После чего перестартуйте X.
