А эмуляция третьей путем нажатия сразу двух имеющихся не
помогает?
Хотя конечно это не удобно, согласен, в Линухе жить с
двухкнопочной мышой - мучение. По этому лично я издревле юзаю
только трехкнопочных грызунов, и Вам рекомендую.
P.S.
А к трехкнопочным мышам меня приучил еще MechWarrior2 тот самый
DOS'овый Activision'овский, там то же без средней кнопки ни
произвольную цель выделить ни стрельнуть качественно нельзя :-))

настройте мышь, чтобы одновременное нажатие двух кнопок
эмулировало нажатие средней.
p.s. настройте, пожалуйста, почтовый клиент,
чтобы он указывал кодировку, используемую в письме
