Совершенно верно. Кстати, есть программа cabextract (спасибо Roman
S., который указал на нее, ищется на freshmeat), которая позволяет
распаковать эти .exe, не прибегая к услугам Win и даже wine.

С правами root:
chkfontpath --add <путь к каталогу с ttf>
Можно также использовать drakfont.
