Сомневаюсь, что это и есть причины :-/
У меня подобный вислинг был при попытке поглядеть на OpenGL скринсейвер
в экранной менюхе KDE.
Провис буквально через секунду после активизации скринсейвера. cron был
выключен, гриновые опции я всегда отрубаю накорню.
Так что проблемма в чем то другом...
Система Spring, железо заведомо рабочее, ставил рабочую станцию
кастомайзом.
