Только что поставил свежий Spring2001
и subj
вот что выдает ping:

напишите вот так:
[root@smart /root]# ipchains -L -v
и если будет что то типа:
Chain input (policy ACCEPT: 2269337 packets, 2314206455 bytes):
Chain forward (policy ACCEPT: 0 packets, 0 bytes):
Chain output (policy ACCEPT: 1494587 packets, 109897380 bytes):
то прям щас не скажу :-(
а если будет гораздо больше записей с преобладанием DENY значит у Вас
установлен фаерволл, который по умолчанию никого непущает, уберите его.
Например через gfcc или ручками, в общем случае man ipchains и HOWTO на
ту же тему.
