Ну на мой взгляд -- лучше второй вариант. Собственно Linux или FreeBSD
это не_принципиально. Принципиально то, что NT не понимает юниксовых
пропертей файлов и отсюда куча траблов возникает когда NT -- сервер а
Linux -- клиент, да и клиентская часть smb оставляет желать лучшего,
особенно в смысле локализации и быстродействия.
А при работе по второму пути, надо поднимать NIS и NFS и жить
припеваючи.
На сколько я помню SilverFox у себя уже решил данную задачу и может
много интересного рассказать...
