Честно говоря, может быть не в кассу. НО. Разная высота букв в
кириллице, это, кажется, типичная болезнь свободных шрифтов от
Williams. Они имеют похожие имена, но другие. Попробуйте
посмотреть, в шрифтах может быть НЕСКОЛЬКО Times New Roman и т.д.
Кроме того, помимо конца строки, в /etc/X11/XftConfig может быть
указан неверный путь к шрифтам Windows (в рассылке проскакивало),
если не изменяет память, то DrakFonts ставит шрифты Windows в
/.../drakfonts, а Иксы ищут их в /.../truetype:( Если изменить,
то шрифтов в диалогах становится меньше, но ошибки
масштабирования пропадают (кажется:).
Надеюсь, что окажется хоть чуть-чуть полезным:)
