WiFi на ноутбуке с Intel 965 GMA WiFi на 3945ABG
ALD 4.0
При установке инсталлятор определил наличие железа и поставил IPW3945
...d ...firmware ...-ucode
Но не работает. Ручной запуск сервиса ...d - в dmesg сообщение Radio
Frequency Kill Switch is On. В драйвере нашел файл rf_kill его
содержимое 2. Что это может значить и как с этом бороться. Сам чайник,
просьба больно не бить.

Не надо так себя казнить :) Проблема есть.
Рекомендация к решению тоже в рассылке - ядро 2.6.22/24
на интел 61i c 22 ядром wifi работает

у меня это означало выключеный в bios wifi.
после того как включил по умолчаню, проблемы исчезли
