Любопытно, у меня были такие-же проблемы. Причем: lp (принтер по-умолчанию)
после загрузки оказывался за-disable'ен с диагнозом
"unable to connect to SAMBA host: Success" недоступен (?). Причем
попытки его enable например через localhost ни к чему не привели.
smb host доступен (правда через gnome samba browser не виден).
Решилось это странно завел еще один принтер, поставил по-умолчанию и
почему-то все заработало. Рыть глубже не стал -- lp так и не печатает.
попробуте...
