Думаю, что стоит использовать cdfs (для 2.4.20 собирается и
устанавливается после небольшой правки мэйкфайла на предмет реальной
версии ядра).
mount -t cdfs /dev/cdrom /mnt/disk и все дорожки (включая отдельные
сессиии (даже если на диске нет ФС) будут отображены как файлы в
/mnt/disk, которые можно копировать куда-нибудь, монтировать, и т.д.
