glibc -- это библиотека, содержащая системные вызовы. Один из базовых
компонентов системы, поэтому лучше ее не трогать (и даже обновлять --
очень осторожно, без необратимых действий).
Если Вы сталкиваетесь с несовместимостью сторонних программ или
пакетов с системой по glibc, правильные действия:
1) посмотреть, нет ли этой программы или пакета в дистрибутивах ALT
Linux;
2) если нет, написать сюда - может быть, найдутся "товарищи по
несчастью", и, в конце концов, сборка для ALT Linux появится.
Кроме того, очень полезно:
3) научиться самому собирать программы из исходников. Это не страшно.
