Простите, недопонял: Вы руками запускаете само соединение WiFi или скрипт, который должен на это соединение опираться? Если второе, попробуйте в скрипте поставить простейший цикл на наличие сети
while true ; do sleep 10 && ping -c 5 mail.ru && break ; done ;
перед телом скрипта (скриптоложество, конечно, но работает).
Если первое, то впишите сюда еще и команду поднятия интерфейса при отсутствии wlan0 (или какого там).
