Проверяются. Но запуск кривого костыля типа Arepo имеет свои нюансы:
во-первых, x86_32 запаздывает на сутки от обновления основного репозитория.
во-вторых, эту проблему стараются решить в рамках перехода на репозиторий
x86_64-i586. Так что или ждите сутки или попробуйте указать репозиторий
x86_64-i586 и переустановить все i586-* пакеты.

Мне вот что интересно: вы используете >4 ГБ оперативной памяти и для этого
захотели 64-битный дистрибутив? Я не осуждаю, но у меня на 32-битной системе
много лет нет проблем со Skype.
