Я бы грешил на железо -- пыль, память, конденсаторы или альбатрон.

1) насколько понимаю, в S754 становились и 32-битные семпроны;
2) если проблема в железе, всё равно вылезет;
3) проверить недолго -- возьми 64-битный rescue
(на днях убедился, что core duo -- 32-битный ;-)
