Успокойтесь. Начиная с 6-ой версии образы дистрибутивов выпускаются гибридными
(то есть их можно напрямую [через dd] записать на USB flash).
Хочу также заметить, что образы USB-загрузки ранее не пользовались
популярностью. Сейчас же эта проблема полностью решена.
