Датчик через какой порт работает? Т.е. подключается через com-порт, usb- или

Ну наверное до подключения датчика к компу глянуть и запомнить такое:
ls -l /dev/input/ > /tmp/nopdu.log
Подключить датчик, загрузить систему и глянуть, что изменилось
ls -l /dev/input/ > /tmp/pdu.log
diff -ur /tmp/nopdu.log /tmp/pdu.log
