Покажите вывод команд:
cat /etc/profile.d/proxy.sh
и после повторного входа в систему:
set | grep -i proxy

Этого достаточно или нет?

Помогает описать отличия от более известных почтовых клиентов.
Мне, например, не хватит времени проверять каждую ссылку и не
забыть после этого ответить в контексте -- и так многим, увы.

Проверьте ещё работу wget (например, wget http://www.ru).
