Почему написал точно:
$ apt-cache search ^memtest
memtest86+ - Memory test for x86 architecture
memtest86 - Memory test for x86 architecture
memtester - Userspace utility for testing the memory subsystem for faults

Ругаться на железо, очевидно, совсем не помогает...
Попробуйте тогда .27 хотя бы. Или .18.
