Здравствуйте господа!
На старенький ASUS P3B-F поставил HD 500G IDE segate,
запустил rescue, к моему удивлению система определила его
как /dev/sda (ожидал /dev/hda).
Разбил примерно так:
/dev/sda1 230G ntfs
/dev/sda2 2G swap
/dev/sda3 10G linux
/dev/sda4 258G linux
По требованию младшего поколения поставил (успешно) WinXP.
XP работает, по ним уже много полезного.
Начал установку altlinux-4.1.0-desktop-i586-install-dvd5
sda1 - /mnt/win
sda2 - swap
sda3 - /
sda4 - /home
загрузчик в mbr на /dev/sda
установка закончена, перезагрузка
и грабли (заложенные в начале нашего повествования)
L 02 02 02
Суть граблей: bios видит 8455MB
я лопухнулся и не увидил это с самого начала.
fdisk -l /dev/sda
500,1 GB
255 heads, 63 track, 60801 cylinders
<skip>
bios стоит последний из того что нашел: 1008.004
пробывал прописать геометрию диска в lilo (по памяти):
append="sda=60801,63,255"
не помогло.
Какие еще действия можно предпринять, куда копать, с
удовольствием выслушаю любые советы и рекомендации
