Доброго дня!
Ставлю ALS. После загрузки ядра установка замирает на попытке чтения с
CD. В kernel message с интервалом где-то в минуту выводится сообщение
hdc: lost interrupt
СD-привод/диск/шлейф менять пробовал.
В чем может быть проблема?

Больше ничего подозрительного нет? Загрузку с noapic проверили?

Что за железо? Также посмотрите версию BIOS (зачастую проблемы с
прерываниями решаются именно обновлением BIOS).
Помимо предложенного рядом noapic, можно попробовать ещё параметры
ядра acpi=off, pci=noacpi. Кроме того, стоит покопаться в настройках
BIOS, связанных с IDE (всякого рода Compatible/Enhanced Mode).
