Это вопрос надо посылать или в рассылку Сизифа, или, что
правильнее в багзилу - сделать запрос мантейнеру на обновление
пакета (ибо всё зависит от его планов и загрузки).

Тогда вам дистрибутивный maven и не нужен -
он в дистрибутиве правится для отучивания лазить в интернет, что
вам не нужно.
