Ну я бы начал с банальной чистки /tmp, затем почистил бы кэш apt'а:
от рута apt-get autoclean или apt-get clean. После провёл бы ревизию
установленных в системе пакетов и снёс бы не нужные мне или малоиспользуемые.
Особенно те, что ставил "на посмотреть".

И уже за тем, так же от рута запустил бы утилиту kleansweep.
[root@oasu3 /]# apt-cache search kleansweep
kleansweep - Инструмент для восстановления дискового пространства путём поиска
ненужных файлов
