Я брал Skype с офсайта. вот здесь
http://www.skype.com/intl/ru/download/skype/linux/ выбираем вариант для
Fedora и ставим пакет по apt-get install ./skype-2.0.0.63-fc5.i586.rpm
Проблем никаких не вызвало, даже вебкамеру мою поддерживает.
