Насколько я понимаю, firefox сам не умеет смотреть pdf. Он вызывает
плагин, который в свою очередь вызывает "смотрелку pdf".
Самих "смотрелок" существует несколько, да и плагинов, теоретически,
может быть несколько. Что не установленно у вас мне сказать сложно. Но
решение проблемвы нужно искать в этой цепочке.
PS Никак не могу понять - почему именно в firefox вы хотите видеть pdf.
