скорее всего проблема в приводе. если так, то может лечиться:
1. замена привода
2. замена носителя (даже если на других приводах он читается)
3. сование диска туда/сюда до тех пор, пока привод не издаст характерный
звук "тсссс" и начнет раскручивать диск -- вы услышите.
3-ий пункт удобно реализовывать командами eject(извлечь лоток) и
eject -t(закрыть лоток). если к этому приспособить mount с анализом кода,
который вернется, то можно процесс туда/сюда вообще полностью
автоматизировать :)
такие вот костыли...
