Так в fstab нету строки для монтирования флешки. Это где-то глубже спрятано.

Ну, стандартный по умолчанию. Ничего нигде не менял.
Уточняю дистрибутив = ALT 4.0.1 Desktop. Сегодня установленный.

/dev/sda1 /mnt/flash vfat noauto,users,iocharset=koi8-r,fmask=111 0 0
строка в фстаб чтобы файлы не были исполняемыми, обратите внимание на параметр
fmask
