Помогает немедленно набросать статью в почту (неплохо бы и на
freesource.info в раздел "Статьи") -- по крайней мере когда
понадобится (и окажется, что всё забыто напрочь), можно будет
нагуглить :)

Вы процесс опишите, и если это ручки в alsamixer, то может быть
достаточно графического интерфейса (их есть); если нет, то можно
накидать модуль для alterator, но всё равно нужна
последовательность действий и параметры.
