А как научить firefox понимать J2SE апплеты?
Доустановил в систему j2se1.4-sun-javaws, j2se1.5-sun-javaws, а он все
равно их не кажет, предлагает скачать/установить..

нужно что б в директории /usr/lib/firefox/plugins лежал симлинк на java-плагин:
libjavaplugin_oji.so ->
/usr/jdk1.6.0/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
