Нормально это звучит. Просто не нужно это слово употреблять в несвойственном
контексте. Как глагол - "выпущен". Например: "Выпущен KDE 4.0".
В случае существительного - "версия". Например: "В это версии..."
Если вы занимаетесь переводом, то уж должны знать, что всегда обсуждение
проходит в контексте.
