Боюсь, это к libevms, которое знает "ext2/3".

Не замечено ни разу. Кстати, если кому пригодится -- старый
Norton Ghost убивал ext3'шный журнал интересным образом,
приходилось его сперва именно добить полностью (mount -t ext2),
а уже потом tune2fs -j опять создавать.

И тогда mount -t ext2 /dev/что /mnt/куда.
