Эта проблема очень подробно расписана в гугле. В файле jabber-jit.xml секция
xdb должна выглядеть так:
<xdb id="xdb">

<load>
<xdb_file>/usr/lib/jabber/xdb_file/xdb_file.so</xdb_file>
</load>
<xdb_file xmlns="jabber:config:xdb_file">
<spool><jabberd:cmdline

Я ее разместил после раздела rlogger. Строки 7-8 (в примере выше) -- это одна
строка.
