Ну я предпочитаю failsafe-рекомендации, соответственно updates
у нас более надёжный, чем backports -- мало ли кто когда чего
из архива рассылки прям себе в sources.list вклеит :)

По крайней мере я не знаю, как. Хотя наощупь 3.0 от 2.4 отличу.
