Я же вам сказал, что termcap не используется в ALT Linux уже достаточно
давно, более четырёх лет. Поддерживать базу данных termcap (а её надо
поддерживать) в ситуации, когда её никто не использует (а значит не будет
тестировать) это дорогое удовольствие. Наконец, порядочные программы не
имеют права лезть в файл /etc/termcap напрямую, для доступа к базе данных
терминалов существуют библиотеки (libtermcap и упраздняющая её libtinfo).
