Если чуть развернуть, то в Компакте
- собственный инсталлятор,
- ядро 2.6.12,
- всё остальное тоже вполне свежее.

Компакт 3.0, если есть опыт обращения с ALT Linux.
Мастер, если такого опыта нет.
Сизиф, если не страшно, не критична непременная повсеместная работоспособность
и есть некоторое количество инета.
